No network or TCP/IP protocol
For you to be able to use our CD catalogue, the network protocol
TCP/IP (TCP/IP is a widespread network protocol family that also
serves as the basis for the Internet, for example) must be installed
on your computer. This also means that our CD-ROM does not install
any additional programs or files on your computer. The reason
the TCP/IP protocol has to be installed is that our catalogue
and the "Assistant" feature are based on Internet technology.
You can find additional help under "Help
for TCP/IP installation"
-
No browser
There are two updated browser versions on
our CD under \Browser\... You can choose between Netscape Communicator
and Microsoft Internet Explorer. We recommend the use of one of
these two browsers, as the user interface is tailored to these
browsers.
Please note that any errors in these third-party programs as well
as any problems caused by these programs are outside our sphere
of influence and are therefore not our responsibility. .

No access authorisation under NT
If Windows NT is installed on your computer and if you do not
possess administrator authorisation, please inform your administrator
in the event of problems.
-
A
Web server has already been started
If a Web server has already been started on your system, you have
to terminate the server before starting (inserting) the CD; otherwise,
the two applications may conflict.
-
A proxy server is specified in the browser
This indicates that the system cannot find the local host. Please
remove the reference for the duration of catalogue access or,
if this is possible, use a different user profile. If you cannot
solve the problem yourself, please consult your system administrator
or contact us.
-
Working
offline
If you decide to work offline - in other words, without starting
the server - you can open the file "index.htm" in the "root" folder
of the CD and view the HTML pages. When you are working offline,
the "Assistant", search and resistance search features are of
course disabled.
- If
you cannot solve any occurring problems yourself or with the help
of your system administrator, please consult one of our contact
persons.
