Summer Company Outing with Good Views and Great Weather
Finally, after a long (Covid) waiting period, the Jolarians went on another company outing. This time it led to Maikammer, first to the Kalmit – at 672.6 m above sea level the highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest. As if this was not high enough, small groups climbed the almost 100-year-old observation tower, which today houses a relay radio station, a weather station and a long-distance visibility measuring station. Weatherman Christian Müller (Klima-Palatina) explained the regional climate change and gave the audience a phenomenal view at the end.
After descending or returning to the village, the cheerful group stopped at TuS Maikammer 1920 e.V., where member and also Jola employee Stefan Gerlach had already personally prepared the delicious spit-roast. With this, salads brought along and sufficient drinks, the beautiful afternoon passed seamlessly into the warm evening.
