Benefit event “The children of Fukushima” on 17/09/2022 at the former cloth factory Gebrüder Haas

In its 70th anniversary year, the electrotechnical company Jola Spezialschalter GmbH & Co. KG, which was founded in 1952, invites you to a benefit event in its “northern building” in Klostergartenstraße in Lambrecht. The aim is to breathe new life into the old walls of the predecessor company, the cloth factory Gebrüder Haas (1868-1961).

On Saturday 17 September 2022, “The Children of Fukushima” will be performed at 7 pm. The programme combines as a collage different artistic expressions:

  • Japanese art songs (Rie Mattil & Kei Suzuki, vocals and Genya Kai, piano),
  • recitations of short poems (haiku) by Yasuhiko Shigemoto (Fumiko Nishino-Friedewald)
  • recitations of voices of contemporary witnesses (Wolfram Blank) and
  • sculptures and a video installation (Johannes Peter).

Starting from the nuclear catastrophe in Fukushima (2011), the one in Hiroshima (1945) is evoked and also the one in Chernobyl (1986). Finally, there is an unpleasant topicality due to the fighting in the immediate vicinity of Ukrainian nuclear power plants (2022). Attention is drawn to the fate of those affected and their lives and suffering. At the end, the wish for peace is expressed.

Admission is free. Donations are requested for the benefit of Ukraine aid through Hilfe im Tal e.V. The protestantische Kirchengemeinde Lambrecht-Lindenberg (the Protestant parish of Lambrecht-Lindenberg) is involved as a cooperation partner. The artistic concept is by Wolfram Blank (Orffeo Studio, Mannheim).
