Jola Turns 70 – Meeting on 5 December 2022
On Saturday 3 December 2022, the company Jola Spezialschalter turned 70 years old. The last festivity of the anniversary year was an internal meeting in the inner courtyard.
The celebration took place on a small scale on the following working day (Monday). The staff and management toasted to the company’s successful past and future over children’s punch, roast sausages and chestnut Saumagen, a regional delicacy.
Three employees received the prize for the big Jola quiz, which they had taken in a team of 4. The task was to answer a historical photo puzzle with 60 questions from all company eras. With 47 out of 60 points, a glamorous achievement! The prize was a bottle of wine “Appellation Rivesaltes Contrôlée” (Domaine La Sobilane) from the year 1952, bottled in 2016.
This was also a good occasion to present the video “The Birth of Jola”, in which eyewitnesses tell of the beginnings in the 1950s. It will be published on the YouTube channel “Inside Jola” on 12 December 2022.
Finally, the very narrow former electricians’ room was open once again, where the desk of inventor Josef Lambrecht once stood. Here, the very first Jola switch lay in a cradle, surrounded by the first two patents, photos and information about the very early devices.
