“Lambrecht Movers and Shakers’ Meeting” at Jola Spezialschalter

“Today, people tend to talk about each other rather than with each other. There is often conjecture instead of clarification. This is often unhelpful and rarely leads to satisfactory results. Instead, all movers and shakers should know each other and coordinate important matters quickly and directly”, says Director Lars Mattil. This is why he offered the “Lambrecht Movers and Shakers’ Meeting” on 23 September 2024 at Jola Spezialschalter.

It was aimed at chairmen, board members, managers etc. of Lambrecht organisations and others who strive for the good of the community and enabled them to get to know each other. And indeed, 36 representatives from companies, politics, churches, associations and other institutions, but also the “driving forces” of individual initiatives, took advantage of the opportunity to network.

In times of almost unlimited interaction possibilities worldwide, communication on site has unfortunately fallen behind. In the past, everyone knew each other, often went to school together and had short, direct lines of communication. This is rarely the case anymore today and stands in the way of progress and advancement. However, if everyone involved pulls together, they can make a difference and create positive momentum for the future.

Strengthening the local community is also very important in the context of sustainability. This is why the event was embedded in two sustainability campaigns, namely the “German Sustainability Action Days” and the “European Sustainable Development Week”. In this respect, the campaign is to be understood as a measure for Goal 17 “Partnerships for the Goals” of the United Nations‘ famous “Sustainable Development Goals” (“SDGs”) as part of the “Agenda 2030”.

The agenda simply included a brief introduction of the organisations or campaigns/projects present and their objectives. In this way, everyone could find out who is involved in what, meet like-minded people and talk to them directly.

As far as the goals for the future are concerned, however, there is still no common denominator. At the moment, there is no vision of what to aim for in the future. This could be the starting point for another event. Communications specialist Norbert C. Korte, who lives in Lambrecht, has already offered to act as moderator. Lars Mattil has also already promised his support if a continuation is desired.
